2010 College World Series Field Set

The final two spots in the College World Series were up for grabs last night with Oklahoma and Clemson moving on. We’ll be doing a preview of one CWS matchup a day from today until the day before the CWS starts, Friday. Below is a recap of yesterdays games, preview number one is coming later on.
Oklahoma skunks Virginia 11-0
Bobby Shore pitched eight innings allowing only four hits, while walking two and striking out five for the Sooners. And while he was pitching lights out Cody Reine was busy hitting two three run homers, one in the first and another in the eighth, to lead OU to their first trip to the College World Series in 15 years.
Clemson survives Alabama 8-6
This game shouldn’t even have been this close. Clemson was up 8-1 going into the bottom of the ninth when Alabama suddenly woke up and scored five runs to bring the game within two. But with the tying run at second base the Tigers got Jake Smith, who had homered in the previous two games, to fly out to left to end the game.
