Cal Releases Will Lyles Recruiting Package

Oregon paid Will Lyles $25,000 for ’2011 National Package’, which contained no 2011 recruits. LSU gave him $6000 for a California and Kansas JUCO package, which contained outdated information. And now we finally have the details of what was in the ’2010 National National Package’ that Will Lyles provided Cal Berkley for $5000… and you guessed it, it also contained some suspect tapes and info.
- The 4-page document lists names and basic information about 49 players listed as 2010 Texas recruits.
- Cal’s recruiting package is listed as having been shipped on March, 23, 2010. Two recruits contained with the package — future Oregon running backs Lache Seastrunk and Dontae Williams — signed with the Ducks on Feb. 3, 2010.
- Out of the 49 recruits in the package, only one of them was not from Texas… Trovon Reed of Louisiana who went onto sign with Auburn.
But despite the discrepancies Cal’s public relations coordinator thinks everything is all good: “Although none of the players on this list ultimately enrolled at Cal, the information included in the report includes the data necessary to begin an evaluation of whether or not to pursue these prospects for scholarship consideration.”
