How The Lockout Could Drastically Affect The NBA Draft

The NBA Draft is my favorite of all the sports… it’s just long enough were you can watch the whole thing and know all the players drafted. But still there are rumors that this lockout could end up changing it, in an effort to make the league more competitive… a change that might make college’s best players thing twice about jumping to the NBA in the future.

The proposed changes below…

What’s Baylors Problem? Bears Block Texas A&M’s Move To SEC

Finally! After weeks of speculation, today the SEC unanimously decided to invite Texas A&M to join their league…but what should have been a day of celebration for both the Aggies and SEC has been ruined by the Baylor Bears, who are considering legal action against the SEC to keep A&M in the Big 12.

But why? On September 2nd the SEC received a unanimous written assurance from the Big 12 that the SEC was free to accept Texas A&M to join as a new member, but then yesterday Baylor and Baylor alone reversed their field. So why? Well that’s the question we’re here to answer.

Why Baylor doesn’t want Texas A&M to leave the Big 12 below…

Even More Big 12 Schools Talking About Leaving

It is officially time to put the Big 12 back on death watch. With rumors running ramped that Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Texas are looking to take their talents elsewhere… the other schools that make up the Big 12 are now looking elsewhere as well. A report from the New York Post today claimed multiple sources have told them that if the Big 12 were to fall apart… the Big East would move to add Kansas, Kansas State and Missouri.

That would mean the Big East would grow to 12 football schools and a whooping 20 in basketball, creating four five-team divisions in basketball and two divisions in football.

Why the Big East wants to expand below…

Comparing The Polls: Week One

The major news in this weeks rankings is that after the 40-27 victory against Oregon, LSU jumped up Alabama to claim the number two spot in the rankings… while the Tide fell to number three in the AP Poll, but not in the USA Today (luckily we’ll get to see who is really when the LSU and Alabama play on November 5th).

But that’s not all that’s not all that’s wrong with this weeks USA Today… for some reason they still have Auburn ranked in the top 25, at #22 after they barely beat Utah State 42-38 at home. The AP meanwhile dropped them out of the rankings, like were supposed to… so this week the AP Poll wins.

The Latest On The Oklahoma To The Pac 12 Rumors

Last year the Big 12 was able to piece together their conference and stave off anilation, this year however they may not be as lucky. Just as Texas A&M was going a couple of weeks ago, Oklahoma is now talking the talk… with their president saying that he’d be deciding if the Sooners will be leaving the conference sometime this month.

And his comments come on the heels of a report from Kirk Bohls of the Austin American-Statesman, where he says his sources, he’s fully expecting OU to seek an invitation to the Pac-12 “within days, if not hours.”  Then there is Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott who told reporters before the LSU-Oregon that, “I will say schools have reached out to us. We are not doing anything proactively… schools have called us. We certainly are going to listen…”.

The NFL Starts Suspending NCAA Violators

College football players beware, the NFL is now making you pay for your past sins. Firs it was Terrelle Pryor who was served with a five game suspension for violating NCAA rules and now today word comes that Jimmy Tressel must sit six games before he can officially become the Colts new “game day coordinator” for what he did at Ohio State.

And while some wold say it’s wrong what the NFL is doing, I applaud them. It’s about time that the NFL stop allowing players and coaches to simply jump to the pros to escape punishment from the NCAA…. and I’d like to see this extended to the NBA and MLB. This is the only way that the NCAA is ever going to curb all the violations.

USC Assistant Coach Resigns Amidst Oregon Probe

Yesterday USC secondary coach Willie Garza shocked everyone when it was reported that he would be resigning immediately for “personal reasons”, jut days before the Trojans opener on Saturday against Minnesota.

But despite what Garza is giving for his resignation, CBS Sports says sources have told them that his “resignation was a direct result of his involvement with former scout Will Lyles and a related NCAA probe into possible recruiting violations”.

More on Garza’s violation below…
