The Big 12 Wants $30 Million From Texas A&M

We know Texas A&M is going to leave the Big 12 for the SEC… the only question left is how much will is cost them? Over the past few days, the Big 12 provided the Aggies with an outline of the steps they need to take in order to depart… and rumor has it, Texas A&M could announce their decision to defect before the weeks end.

So how much will it cost them… according to sources, a buyout would cost the Aggies somewhere in the vicinity of $10-$15 million, although the Big 12 will likely ask something closer to the $30 million mark from A&M. Damn that’s a lot of money!

Bruce Pearl To Sell Groceries For A Billionarie

Bruce Pearl is done. Less than a week after the NCAA basically banned the dude from coaching college basketball until 2015, he’s hung up his coaching jacket to sell groceries. That’s right… statement released by Pearl today, he announced that he would be staying in Knoxville and joining HT Hackney as vice president of marketing. WTF!

But don’t act too surprised because this job is probably going to pay Pearl more than the $500,000 a year that he was offered to coach the Texas Legends, the Dallas Mavericks‘ D-League franchise… Forbes magazine ranks HT Hackney as the 82nd largest privately held company in the country with annual revenues of about $4 billion. Oregon Ends Penn State’s Record Breaking Home Win Streak

On September 1, 2006 the Penn State women’s volleyball team won a home game against Eastern Kentucky… and now 94 home games later, the Nittany Lions have finally lost one. On Saturday Oregon ending the #1 ranked Penn State women’s volleyball team home winning streak in four sets (16-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-22), marking the first time in history the Ducks had beaten a top ranked team.

But back to the win streak…  in NCAA team sports records, only three men’s basketball streaks surpass the Nittany Lions’ home court run: Kentucky, 129 wins (1943-55); St. Bonaventure, 99 (1948-61); and UCLA, 98 (1970-76).

The Odds Miami Will Receive The Death Penalty

Just to prove that you really can vote on everything in Vegas, here goes the odds that Miami will receive the “death penalty”. I’m betting they won’t, but the public has spoken and according to the dudes over at Bodog Sportsbook have the odds at -130 for ‘yes’ that the Hurricanes will receive the ‘death penalty’ and a ‘no’ wager is -110.

But that’s not all. They’re also taking bets on whether Al Golden will be coaching the Hurricanes next season, how many years of probation they will receive, and the number of players that will be suspended… and we’ve got those odds for you below.

MSU Player Kicked Off Team For Tweet

I think this might be a first… the first college basketball player kicked off a team because of tweet. Mississippi State freshman guard DJ Gardner, who was one of the top recruits in the state of Mississippi, has found his ass on the end of head coach Rick Stansbury’s boot after he sent out the following tweet letting the world know that he pissed off for being redshirted this season:
