Miami To Declare 12 Football Players Ineligible

Well this like totally sucks. According to the Miami Herald, and citing a source close to the investigation, Miami is expected to declare at least 12 football players* ineligible ahead of the Hurricanes’ season opener on September 5th. Damn.

And as you can probably it’s most likely the 12 players Nevin Shapario named in his Yahoo!Sports interviews, which would include: DB Ray-Ray Armstrong, WR Travis Benjamin, TE Dyron Dye, DL Marcus Forston, QB Jacory Harris, WR Aldarius Johnson, DB JoJo Nicolas, DL Adewale Ojomo, DL Marcus Robinson, LB Sean Spence, DB Vaughn Telemaque and DL Olivier Vernon.

Oregon’s Lache Seastrunk Transfers To Baylor Because God

This couldn’t be good news for Oregon… running back Lache Seastrunk (who is at the center of the investigation for it was for him that Oregon allegdly paid Willie Lyles $25000 to land) who has transferred from the Ducks to Baylor and the reason, God told him to. Say what now!?

Seatrunk says: “When I first went there [Oregon], I felt like God wanted me to be there… but God also pulls you out of the storm before it happens. So I felt like something was about to go down and God wanted me to get out of there.”

So whys this bad news for the Ducks?

Frank Beamer Wants Pete Carroll To Be Suspended

I’m sorry, but I still can’t get over the fact that the NFL really stepped out of their lane and gave Terrelle Pryor a five game suspension for breaking NCAA rules… NCAA rules. Do you know what this means?! Pandora’s Box has been opened. This opens up the door for future college players to be suspended once they turn pro and I’m not just talking NFL, but NBA as well.

And what about coaches like Pete Carroll who try and run from NCAA violations by jumping to the pros… can they be suspended by the league too? The Terrellle Pryor ruling means everyone is fair game now. Nobody is safe.

What Frank Beamer had to say about Pryor and Carroll below…

LSU Football Players Fractured Victims Spine In Fight

Yesterday the four LSU players involved in the bar brawl were interviewed by police, but no arrest were made. In fact police now say the investigation could take an additional 7 to 10 days to wrap up, which is good news for Tiger fans because if it is the latter then that would mean charges won’t come until after the Oregon game.

But no matter how long the players manage to put it off, as the spokesperson for the Baton Rouge Police Department put it… there’s still “a good chance arrests will be made”. Especially since we now know one of the four victims suffered three fractured vertebrae during the fight.

NCAA Giving Some Players Immunity In The Miami Scandal

There is nothing a hate more than a snitch is a snitch that gets rewarded for snitching… and that’s what the NCAA is doing, giving certain student athletes immunity for spilling the beans about Shapiro. As we told you in our piece yesterday…

There are 21 current student athletes that were mentioned in the Yahoo!Sports report as having received gifts from Miami booster Nevin Shapiro, but the NCAA is only questioning the eligibility of 12-15 athletes currently enrolled at Miami.

Which means almost a dozen student athletes who violated NCAA rules have gotten off scotch free. What gives? Well according to the VP of NCAA enforcement Julie Roe Lach, ”the enforcement staff has been given, by the membership, a pretty important investigative tool”… limited immunity.

More on limited immunity below…

For some reason Hawaii is considering traveling almost 4000 miles in order to play a regular season football game in Japan. Japan! And while they have not picked an opponent for the Rainbows to face yet, after all they aren’t planning on holding the game until 2014 at the earliest… Hawaii’s athletic director has already met with the owners of the Osaka Dome, where the proposed game would take place.
