Day 3 Rick Pitino Trial Recap

UPDATE: I forgot to mention today the defense gets to cross examine Pitino. Goodie!

Okay so day three of the trial is over and it was pretty darn good…we saw Pitino and the entourage he was with at the restaurant on the night of alleged rape take the stand and learned that Pitino is a 15 second man. About the only must read part of the day was Pitino’s play-by-play of the sexual encounter with Sypher:

When asked about it Pitino said, “unfortunate things happen.” They had a drink and moved to a booth just behind the bar. Pitino said, “one thing led to another” and then she “opened up my pants.” She asked Pitino if he had a condom and he said no. She said “well you have to pull out because I am fertile.” Pitino said this concerned him, but he continued and the entire sexual encounter “took less than 15 seconds.” He said he knows that he did not ejaculate inside of her. “We talked, I pulled my pants up an we left a short time later.”

After that he goes onto to talk about how she drove him home, they chatted for awhile in the car, and then he got out. Another bombshell we learned today was that Pitino gave her a total of $3,000 for the abortion, $10,000 to pay for her son a car, and said he was going to set up a college fund for one of her daughters. So even though I don’t think she was raped, maybe her asking for $5.5 million wasn’t “extortion” after all.
