Ex-Arizona Wildcat Claims Coaches Invested In Salinas To Land Him

Former Arizona basketball player Jawann McClellan, who played for AAU team Houston Select under David Salinas has come forward and said that he’s “pretty sure” college basketball coaches tried to gain leverage in his recruitment by investing money with [Salinas].

And McClellan might have been right… in an article for SI.com posted the other day, records show that former UofA assistant coach Scott Thompson had $65,000 invested with Salinas. And while the assistant coach might be dirty, Lute Olsen is claiming in he only invested his $1.7 million in Salinas after he’d retired from coaching… so don’t go pointing the finger at him.
