RB Jeff Demps May Quit The UF Football Team

Will running back Jeff Demps be suiting up for the Florida Gator football program this fall… that is the question. Currently Demps is in Italy competing with the US National Track & Field team. And in case you didn’t know… in addition to being a football player, Demps is one of the fastest men in the world and can run a 9.96 second 100 meter dash (Usain Bolt currently holds the world record at 9.58 seconds).

So as you see, Demps has a dilema… play football this year or quit and focus on trying to qualify for the 2012 Olympics, which is a goal of his. And no offense to Gator fans, but I thinking he’ll eventually end up quitting.

There’s no future in Demps in football. Dude is only 5’8 181 pounds… there’s no way he’d make it in the NFL as a running back. Plus with new offensive coordinator Charlie Weiss over at Florida, who runs a pro style offense as opposed to the spread offense Urban Meyer ran… there’s no need for a small speedy scat back like himself… so he might as well make that move now before he gets hurt.
