Spine Breaking College Hockey Hit

And now for a bit of good news…it looks as though Jesse Martin, the University of Denver hockey player that got his spine broke on this hit by Brad Malone of North Dakota last week, is going going to make a full recovery.

The hit ended up fracturing the second cervical vertebrae, leaving Martin momentarily paralyzed. However since then Martin has regained feeling arms and legs last week and will undergo surgery tomorrow stabilize his spine, after which he is expected to make a full recovery.

Whew, luckily for Malone he didn’t end up killing die or permanently paralyzing Martin, which doctors say he could have done…who would want that on his mind?
