John Sloan: The Great White NBA Hope

I don’t know how many white guys are going to be drafted in this years NBA Draft, but I bet you it is going to be close to zero and definitely not this dude. His name John Sloan, a 5’11 175 pound slow unathletic junior guard from small Division III school that nobody has heard of called Huntingdon College located somewhere in the backwoods of Alabama.

Only having averaged 2 points in 10 minutes a game, he’s entered his name in the draft and has no intentions of withdrawing it before the May 8 deadline.

If you’re thinking this is some kind of joke then you’re right. See Sloan decided after this season not play his senior year instead get a job, when one night he was joking around with his friends and said he should enter his name in the draft.

Well a joke turned into reality after he researched how to do it and mailed in the paper work to the league office. Sloan was taking a final exam last Thursday afternoon when the NBA released the official early entry list with his name on it.

“I got a whole lot of calls and text messages during the final to the point where I kind of got in trouble for my phone blowing up,” Sloan said. “Guys were calling to tell me, ‘They’re writing about you on Twitter and you’re all over the internet. It’s hilarious. Everyone doesn’t understand how I got on the list or how I’m getting all this attention.”

And Sloan has no intentions on withdrawing his name before the May 8 deadline, he’s in it to win it. I just hope he’s smart enough to get a piece of ass out of all this.

  1. he’s actually pretty quick

  2. He has short man syndrome Really his only about 5’9″ Just a guy that needs attention..

  3. FYI… Huntingdon is in Montgomery, AL, the capital of Alabama, not in the backwoods. Stereotype fail.

And on a side note, I know John, we’re from the same town. Good kid, hilarious idea… i mean why not?!

  4. John is very atheletic from a basketball family , just a little short. Neither his college or his hometown is “backwoods.” He could smoke the author of this article’s ass in a game of roundball. He will be a fine pharmacist.

  5. Haha I went to school with him… he is alright.. This is funny though

  6. i think he’ll get a piece of ass

  7. Ya know, you would think any author, before he attempts to slam someone with pathetic personal attacks on his physique, hometown, and college, that he would at least attempt proper grammar in the process in hopes of not looking like a complete douche bag. Which you certainly achieved, might I add. What a stereotypical, ignorant frat boy YOU are. And this “article” is nothing more than a poor attempt at copying and pasting far better articles in the first place. Whoever runs this site should fire you, and if it IS you, then perhaps you shouldn’t quit your day job.

  8. I know John ive played against him for 2 years now… dude had me crackin up all game, hes a funny guy

and i respect what hes doin, its freakin hilarious

  9. First of all Albertville is not backwoods, maybe you should have completed your research on this matter before posting it with hopes of bashing him! Instead you made yourself out to be a total jackass so props on that one. Second he is a good player, if you can’t compair to him then what gives you the right to say he isn’t any good? Third and last, have you ever watched the NBA? I’m sure not every single player that’s been drafted has attended a huge well know high school. You have to start somewhere. John is an intellegant guy with an awesome sense of humor so, personally I have to say Im thinking this post is just an act of jealousy! So good luck to you & your jealous issues.

  10. John Sloan rocks!
