The Coaching Carousel

Now that Jim Harbaugh is off the market it seems like all the schools still looking for a head coach are fighting over the same handful of coaches. So here is a recap of all the rumors and movement from the past few days and who is most likely to land the job.
Michigan: A Michigan private jet was spotted at the Baton Rouge airport, which means that if Michigan hasn’t already met with Les Miles they soon will. No need to worry though…QB Jordan Jefferson said Les already told him he ain’t going no where and LSU’s AD seems confident he’ll stay, so what if Michigan doesn’t get their 4th choice? (#1 Jim Harbaugh – Stanford #2 Gary Patterson – TCU #3 Pat Fitzgerald – Northwestern). Look for Michigan to offer the job to Brady Hoke of San Diego State, who will gladly accept.
Stanford: Initial reports said Stanford was going to promote from within. The players have spoken and want Offensive Coordinator David Shaw to be their coach, like their opinion matter. But now it’s looking like the Cardinal are targeting Boise State head coach Chris Peterson, who the Cardinal made contact with over the weekend. If they don’t land Peterson, which will probably be the case, look for them to go with Shaw.
Pitt: The Panthers having to fire Mike Haywood because of that little domestic violence spat may have been a blessing in disguise for them. Already Pitt has interviewed Virginia Tech defensive coordinator Bud Foster along with five other coaches, but the favorite for the job is Tulsa’s Todd Graham who’s begun contract negotiations with the school.
UConn: UConn is quitly making some moves of their own having lost their coach Randy Edsall to Maryland. This weekend the Huskies conducted their first interview with Penn State defensive coordinator Tom Bradely, who was falsely reportedly as Pitt’s new head coach last week. Meanwhile Delaware head coach K.C. Keeler said he was not interested over the weekend after his name came up as a possible replacement.
Boise State: Boise State offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin was hired by Texas as their OC. Now the Broncos old WR coach Brent Pease who was hired by Indiana on December 30th as their OC is leaving the Hoosiers without having coached a game for them to take the OC job at Boise State.
Clemson: Tulsa offensive coordinator Chad Morris was hired by Clemson as their OC.
