MidWest Region: David vs Goliath

This is the toughest region in the tournament and you’ve got two kinds of teams in it…there’s good ones and then there’s bad ones, and for the bad teams the first round is going to get ugly. We looked and looked for a possible upset, but just couldn’t find one.

Houston, who snuck in the tourney by the hairs on their chinny chin chin with a win over heavily favored UTEP in the C-USA Final is a David, but them pulling off a win against Maryland…we don’t think so. In this matchup David is going to get crushed by Goliath.

If you held a gun to our head and told us to pick one upset in this region it’d be #12 New Mexico State over Michigan State, but only because the players might be so pissed at Izzo that they’re not focused on playing.
