Stanford Womens Athletics Crowned The Best In The Nation

No surprise here… the Stanford women’s athletic program have won the very first Capital One Cup, given out to the “best” athletic program in the nation. The competition has been going on all year long, with schools collecting points when a team finishes in the top 10 in the stands and/or wins a national championship. In the end the Cardinal women finished with a total of 121 points beating out the runner-up Texas A&M who finished with 112.

The award along with a $200,000 check will be given out at the ESPY Awards on July 13… at which time Capital One will also announce the mens winner. [via]
