Debbie Yow vs Gary Williams Part I

There’s a whole lot of bitchassness going on in college basketball right now people.

On Tuesday NC State AD Debbie Yow threw Maryland’s Gary Williams under the bus saying he’d had sabotaged her coaching search, but wouldn’t elaborate on it because according to her: “There will be somebody else writing about that nationally.” Really?!

Of course Gary Williams quickly responded to her accusations, same day, denying any wrong doing. And here we are a day after both Yow and Williams traded shots with each other, neither is making themselves available for further comment. It’s like throwing someone under the bus and not backing up and running over them again. You already hit them, why not? She scared ladies and gentleman, she scared.

UNC Players Play Pickup Game With Bros

Well isn’t this nice! After losing in the tournament a handful of UNC basketball players took some time off from all the Spring parties to go play pickup basketball with some of the frat dudes on campus. Just how did the regular-student fair against the athlete-students…watch the video to see them get dunked on. [Ballin' Is A Habit via Dan Wiederer]

The Funny Letter To Duke’s Kyrie Irving

I usually think that all the guys (and girls) that write for the school paper are all nerds and weenies. I mean have you ever seen one of them. If it’s not the sports section or the crossword puzzle I don’t even bother reading it. But today I would like to give Duke writer Chris Cusack some props for writing an open letter to Kyrie Irving that was so over the top sarcastic, it made me chuckle several times.

Meet Austin Rivers Girlfriend

A few months ago we asked ‘Who is Austin Rivers Girlfriend‘ after spotting her with Austin, the #1 recruit in the class of 2011 and son of Doc Rivers, in the crowd at a Duke game…well we’ve found her! And while we like what we see, we’re not liking what we’re hearing.

First off her name is Brittany Hotard and she started dating Austin when she was a senior and he was a sophomore. But ever since she graduated from Winter Park in ’09 she’s basically been his shadow…going to most his HS games home and away and sitting by his mom to make sure she’s on the Austin River’s money train when it takes off.

2011 College Football Spring Games

A few hours before the Final Four tips off Saturday, the 2011-12 college football season will officially get underway with the first televised Spring Game of the year. It’s just Virginia, so I doubt many will tune in…but come Sunday they’ll be no men’s tournament games, two sub-par NBA matchups, and the women’s Final Four doesn’t come on until night.

Which means the entire sports nation will be turning their attention to Texas who’ll be holding their Spring Game live on ESPN at 3:00pm ET. I love it. Personally I don’t care if there’s an NFL lockout or not, just as long as there’s college football I’ll be happy.
