A couple of weeks ago there were some stories going around calling Arizona State linebacker Vontaze Burfict the meanest man in college football… and as if trying to prove to everyone that he is, word comes this week that Vontaze got into a fight with wide receiver Kevin Ozier after a practice last week.

Well I shouldn’t even call it a fight because as the story goes… Burfict threw a one hitter quitter and knocked Ozier the fck out Friday style. That boy Ozier is a bad man! [via]

Shout out to the Arizona State softball team for winning the 2011 NCAA Championships! And to celebrate here goes a couple pictures of the (underage) underclassmen on the squad enjoying a drink at a post championship party… along with some shots of the hottest girl on the team (not pictured in the photo above).

It must be new uniform week in the Pac 12 or something. On Monday Washington State unveiled their subpar new uniforms to our disappointment…and then yesterday Arizona State not only debuted new uniforms, they threw in a new logo and put it all in this snazzy video with the explicit version of Black & Yellow banging in the background.

For the second time this season a college baseball player has sustained a neck injury that required same day emergency spine surgery. Arizona State freshman Cory Hahn fractured his spine and was reportedly paralyzed on February 20th after sliding head first into second base in a game versus New Mexico (update on his condition below).

And then on Sunday Georgia outfielder Johnathan Taylor (pictured center) injured his neck in a head-to-head collision with teammate Zach Cone while trying t run down a line drive. Taylor walked off the field, but had to have surgery to stabilize his spine yesterday and will have to undergo rehab…so something is seriously wrong.

Can you believe that less than 1% (.03% to be exact) of colleges in the nation’s six major football-playing conferences have never had a major NCAA infraction? Which means if you’re a recruit who’s looking to go to a college thats has never been in trouble with the NCAA you’ve got a choice between just two schools.

So who are these two squaeky clean programs that have never committed an NCAA violation…the Penn State and Stanford. The rest of the schools have combined for a total of 241 infractions cases dating back to 1953. And the baddest apple in the bunch, Arizona State who has had nine NCAA infraction cases to date. [via USAToday]

Send your thoughts and prayers out to Arizona State baseball player Cory Hahn and his family. The freshman and last years Southern California POY, was seriously injured Sunday in Arizona State’s game versus New Mexico when he slid headfirst into second base on a steal attempt, colliding with the knee of New Mexico second baseman Kyle Stiner in the process. Now the word is Hahn may be paralyzed.

Multiple sources have confirmed to College Baseball Daily that Cory Hahn suffered a C-5 fracture of his spinal cord and has already ungone surgery. The extent of his spinal cord injuries will not be known until swelling goes down, but to put the injury into context Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand who was parazyled last year suffered a C3-C4 fracture. Hahn will spend the next week in ICU and we’ll be sure to update you on any new news.

Someone get this man a medal of honor. Arizona State’s second leading rusher last season, running back Deantre Lewis, was at a relative’s house in Riverside, CA yesterday celebrating the birth of his sister’s baby when he was shot in the ass. LOL!

I know I shouldn’t be laughing, but that’s pure comedy. The good news is Lewis was only hit by a stray bullet, so it wasn’t like someone was trying to kill him in a drug deal gone bad or something. And the even better news is that he should be out the hospital tomorrow.
