Former Arizona basketball player Jawann McClellan, who played for AAU team Houston Select under David Salinas has come forward and said that he’s “pretty sure” college basketball coaches tried to gain leverage in his recruitment by investing money with [Salinas].

And McClellan might have been right… in an article for SI.com posted the other day, records show that former UofA assistant coach Scott Thompson had $65,000 invested with Salinas. And while the assistant coach might be dirty, Lute Olsen is claiming in he only invested his $1.7 million in Salinas after he’d retired from coaching… so don’t go pointing the finger at him.

Mar my words Derrick Williams is going to win rookie of the year… so why who Markieff (the worst of the Morris Twins) is talking sht about him I don’t know.

“I didn’t think he was as good as advertised,” Morris said.

I am proud to say that I was on Derrick Williams jock way back in December, now that he’s become the most popular player in the tournament after leading Arizona to 93-77 win over Duke, scoring 25 of his career high 32 points in the first half.

But Williams performance was just as amazing for how he scored the points as it was for how many he scored…dude was dunking all over Duke like he was LeBron playing against some high schoolers. I don’t think there has been a more awesome display of posterizing dunks all season. Everybody on Duke was getting some, but nobody got it worst than Kyle Singler who got served two Peter North sized facials (all the dunks from last night below).

We all know Katelynn Johnson (pic’d above)…former oregon cheerleader, super hottie, and co-host of FoxSports College Experiments…well here is here latest Team Hot Girl video where she takes a trip to the University of Arizona to visit with their rodeo team. Yeah I know right…since when did U of A have a rodeo team (apparently since 1932).

The above picture of USC basketball coach Kevin O’Neil getting active with an Arizona fan was taken just hours after the Trojans killed Cal’s by a score of 70-56 in the first round of the Pac 10 tournament…right before all hell broke loose:

O’Neill and his wife were in a hotel lobby of the JW Marriott and visibly intoxicated when they exchanged words with a group of Arizona fans. O’Neill reportedly threatened the fan that USC was going to “beat the hell out of Arizona.” Words were exchanged and our sources say that O’Neill’s wife struck one of the Arizona fans. O’Neill and his wife were escorted out of the hotel, and Arizona fans were left wondering what just happened.

Now that’s gangsta! Round two goes down tonight when USC meets Arizona in the semi-finals of the Pac 10 Tournament. What USC’s AD had to say about the scuffle below.

Monday we gave you who we thought would win the SEC POY…today we’re going to go over the Pac 10 race. Now I’ve been saying since the beginning of the year that Arizona’s Derrick Williams was going to win Pac 10 POY and I’m not bugging from my position.

Williams is 2nd in the conference in scoring at 19.1 ppg, 5th in rebounds at 8.1 per, and most impressively he leads the nation in “effective field goal percentage” (whatever that means) at 66.1%. How could he not win POY, he’s on the only team ranked in the top 25?
