Kyle Parker The Dumbass

I was truly sad that I didn’t get to bring you this news last week…that Clemson’s Kyle Parker decided to return to Clemson to play football instead of cashing in and signing with the Rockies. But now that we’re back up let me be the first to say, what a dumbass!

He might have just played his best season of football and baseball that he ever played in his life and he passes up millions. For what…to return to college in hopes that he can be the next Jake Locker and pass up a baseball contract worth hundreds of thousands a year, so he can get millions as an NFL QB later down the road? Maybe.

Why Baseball Sucks Fun Fact

More people are expected to go to the Penn State vs Youngstown State football game on September 4th (110,000+) than have seen the first FIVE no-hitters thrown in the major leagues this season (105,843). Now if there is anyone who is still questioning what America’s real favorite past time is after reading that FUN FACT, I am sad to inform you that you are not smarter than a 5th grader.

Bryce Harper Wins The Golden Spikes Award

If you’re like me you’re probably wondering what the f-ck is a Golden Spikes Award?! It’s not the Heisman of baseball..I know what that one is, it’s the Dick Howser Trophy. And even though technically “Baseball’s Heisman” title is taken by the Dick Howser Trophy, this Golden Spike Award might actually might be better then it.

Where as the Dick Howser Trophy is voted on by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, whoever the f-ck they are, the Golden Spike Award is given out by USA Baseball and voted on the MLB Players Association…and I don’t know about you, but I’d prefer to have an award given out by the MLB over some old fart writers.

Kyle Parker Entering Contract Negotiations

I think it’s well known that I have a man crush on Kyle Parker. He’s everything that I dreamed of being when I was little…a star QB and baseball player. Instead I turned out to be short, slow, and unathletic. But my dream lives on through Parker.

And while he said he was taking a month long vacation to decide whether he’ll play pro baseball or stay in college it’s not stopping him from going to Denver this weekend to talk about his contract with the Colorado Rockies. We already know Parker would like to focus on baseball, all he needs now is for the Rockies to show him the money.

South Carolina Wins First Baseball Championship

(AP) – Whit Merrifield’s RBI single with one out in the bottom of the 11th inning gave South Carolina its first baseball national championship with a 2-1 victory over UCLA. It was the fifth championship decided in an extra-inning final, and first since Southern California topped Florida State in 15 innings in 1970.

Scott Wingo drew a leadoff walk and took second when catcher Steve Rodriguez, perhaps distracted when Evan Marzilli squared to bunt, let an inside 1-0 pitch get past him. Wingo moved to third when Marzilli got a bunt down, and scored when Merrifield drilled a 2-0 pitch by Dan Klein past the pulled-in outfield of the Bruins and into right field.

CWS: South Carolina Dominates UCLA 7-1

UCLA was supposed to be the team with the ace pitching staff staff not South Carolina. But it was not the Bruins Gerrit Cole who threw the eight inning ten strikeout three hit ace, it was South Carolina’s Blake Cooper. And thanks to him the Gamecocks are now only one win away from their first nation championship.

Even though Cooper was pitching on three days’ rest for the second straight time, he owned Bruin batters…giving up one hit in the fifth, then retiring 11 straight after that, before giving up two hits in the bottom of the ninth right before he was pulled.

Kyle Parker: Pro Baseball or College Football

Now that Clemson has been kicked out of the College World Series, all the Tiger fans want to know is if Kyle Parker is turning pro. Well unfortunately he doesn’t know yet. Even though it’s been just about three months since the Colorado Rockies drafted him in the first round, he’s going to take at least another month to decide on whether he wants to continue to be a broke college student or live the baller life of a pro baseball player.

Hmmmmm, return to school and get chased around by 300 pound guys trying to take your head off for free or sign a $2 million contract to sit around and swinging a bat? I don’t even know why some people are out there still speculating which he is going to choose.
