The 2011 World University Games are coming up on August 11th, but before the team departs for China to take on the world they’re going to trim their roster to 12 and cut two college basketball players from the team.

Kentucky fans better hope there’s an NBA Lockout this season… for John Calipari announced on Twitter that if there is former Wildcats Rajon Rondo, John Wall and Eric Bledsoe will be enrolling in classes at UK and suiting up as student assistant coaches and be able to practice with the squad. Calipari is the master. [via]

Are pigs flying? Because that’s what it will take for me to believe that the Mr. Honorable Mike Krzyzewski committed an NCAA violations… but there are those pesky rumors that Coach K has indeed violated an NCAA recruiting rule this past week.

The reason this facial from Wednesday is front page news…. the dude getting dunked on is none other than 6-10  Nerlens Noel, the so called number one shot blocker in the class of 2013. The guys that’s dunking on him… Shaquille Cleare, the 29th ranked player in the class of 2012. [via]

The Oklahoma Sooner basketball program is in a shtload of trouble. The school was already on probation for violations the football and basketball team committed back in 2007 and 2008… and now they’ve reported that the basketball program has committed two more major violations since then.

If you didn’t know John Calipari is coaching the Dominican Republic’s National Team (which has NBA’ers Al Horford, Charlie Villanueva and Francisco Garcia) this summer to try and work his coaching magic to get them good enough to earn a spot in the 2012 Olympic Games.

And as a warm up for the FIBA America’s tournament he’s put together Kentucky All-Star Team for the Dominican’s to scrimmage against… a team that will include John Wall, Rajon Rondo,DeMarcus Cousins, Tayshaun Prince and other UK legends of the past. So if you’re in the Lexington area on August 15th, be sure to check the game out. Police Report: Anderson was arrested Tuesday evening on campus by police after a tracking device on the MacBook Pro (valued at $1,541) helped its owner lead police to him. Anderson was later booked at the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station and released on $20,000 bail… and has been suspended for at least the season opener and barred from all team activities.
