The Summer Dunkfest Continues

We got to see a little of Josh Selby this past season at Kansas, but I didn’t know he had hops like that. He shatted all over that dude. But this is not the only dunk we’ve got for yall… below we’ve got another nice one from Washington recruit Tony Wroten Jr. that might be even nastier.

Another dunk below…

The Sooner TV Network Hits A Snag

Right after news broke that Texas was launching the Longhorn Network with ESPN, talk began about Oklahoma following suit and coming out with a Sooner Network… you know how the song goes, anything you can do I can do better. Well that was six months ago and as of today the Sooner Network is no closer to coming to fruition than it was then. OU’s athletic director Joe Castiglione even admitted it in an interview yesterday.

More On The College Basketball Pay For Play Mega Scheme

We first brought you news of this mega scandal yesterday… where up to 10 college basketball coaches were found to have “invested” millions in AAU coach David Salinas company and are thought to have received recruits in exchange.

Well boom goes the dynamite. Former Houston head coach Tom Penders has come forward today and confirmed all of our suspicions in an interview with Dan Wolken… saying that Salinas tried to get him to make a $100,000 investment in exchange for access to prospects.

The Longhorn Network Running Into Problems

The Longhorn Network is set to launch on August 26th, but not without some opposition. On one hand they’ve got the NCAA investigating them to see if it is against the rules for them to broadcast high school football games (it isn’t as long as the broadcast doesn’t feature a UT coach or organized by anyone in their athletic department).

And on the other they’ve got fellow Big 12 member Texas A&M meeting behind closed doors on Thursday and Friday of this week to discuss the specifics of the network. In other words, the Aggie people are pissed that Texas doesn’t have to share any of the $300 million they’re going to be making on the deal… and are weighing their options i.e. joining the SEC.

UWV and UGA Football Both Get Bad News From NCAA

Ohio State wasn’t the ones that had NCAA today… on the same day that we saw OSU respond to their accusations, the NCAA also handing down double dose blows to both the West Virginia and Georgia football program.

The Moutaineers have accepted the NCAA’s punishment of two years probation, a 23% reduction of football activities, and the loss coaches they shouldn’t have anyways… after WVU was found to have committed major violations involving failure to monitor by former coaches Rich Rodriguez and Bill Stewart and the university for having too many coaches and practicing too many hours. But hey on the bright side at least they got a great new in Dana Holgorsen and fans can drink at the game.

The big trouble that UGA is in below…
