The deal is Brett Favre will comeback and play another year with the Vikings if the Southern Miss baseball team makes it to the CWS. In order to do that the Golden Eagles are going to have to win the C-USA Tournament, which starts this Wednesday.

The Golden Eagles are going into the tournament as the number 2 seed and will need to win their “pod” in order to move onto the finals. There pod consist of East Carolina, Houston, and Memphis…all teams they beat in 3 game series earlier this year.

We’ll have updates on Southern Miss’s progress as the tourney moves along.

As part of this years final CWS in Omaha’s Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium, the NCAA and College World Series came up with the College World Series Legends Team.

For the last year or so fans, sports writers and college baseball coaches have been voting on which players they felt had the best College World Series in the 60 years that it has been played at Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium. And after over 100,000 votes the NCAA has just released the 28 player roster for the first ever Legends Team.

Some notable names on the list include: Barry Bonds, J.D. Drew, Skip Bertman, Nomar Garciaparra, Dave Winfield…we have the complete list for you below.
