Video: Team USA Dunks All Over Croatia

Just a day after we gave the U19 USA Basketball Team some props for beating Lithuania in the first round of the FIBA World Championships they turn around and lose the next game to Croatia. Jeremy Lamb was ballin’ once again in this one again, going off for 25 points, but it wasn’t enough… USA lost 87-85 after being down 70-61 at half.

But enough with the game recap (the complete one here), lets talk about these pair of dunks Patrick Young of UF (who finished with 15 and 8) had… just nasty! [via]

SEC Football Statue Wars

I don’t I feel like this should be a show on TLC or something because it seems like when it comes to statue building in the SEC the motto is, “anything you can I’m going to bigger and better”. Last week Florida kicked things off with the unveiling of their trio of statues of their Heisman winners (Steve Spurrier, Danny Wuerffel, and Tim Tebow). Alabama is set to debut their scary ass Nick Saban statue before their Spring Game on Saturday.

And now not to be out done Auburn has annoucned they’re creating their own trio of statues honoring their three Heisman Trophy winners…Pat Sullivan (1971), Bo Jackson (1985), Cam Newton (2010)…and they’re going to be bigger than both UF’s and ‘Bama’s, with each being 1½ the size of each former players and weighing 1,900 pounds a piece.

Caught On Tape: Florida Basketball Arrest

On Sunday two Florida basketball players (Erik Murphy and Cody Larson) and one team manager (Joshua Adel) got arrested for breaking into a car outside a bar in St. Augustine. And here goes part two of a 34 minute secret police recording taken while Adel and Larson were in the back of the police car on their cell phones trying to convince Murphy to turn himself in to police…and guess what, someone is crying! I’m sorry but this is too hilarious.

Part I and a transcription of the recordings below…

UF Campus Police: Not Gone in 60 Seconds

Names: Erik Murphy & Cody Larson
Team: Florida – Basketball
Charges: Third-Degree Burglary

Arrest Report: According to St. Augustine Police Florida basketball players Erik Murphy and Cody Larson, along with basketball manager Joshua Adel were at the bar Scarlett O’Hara’s around closing time and standing near an employee who was counting cash. After a bouncer asked them to leave, Murphy and Larson allegedly tried to break into the car of one of the bar’s employee’s at the parking lot, with Adel serving as the lookout.

Apparently he wasn’t doing a good job because the 3 were spotted by employees and ran after they were confronted by them. And they probs would have gotten away had it not been Adel who was caught about a block later. Police officers convinced Adel to call Murphy and Larson who eventually turned themselves in.

The Highlights From Florida’s Spring Game

It’s sad the the highlight of Florida’s Spring game from this past weekend was the unveiling of the statues of the three Gator Heisman winners: Steve Spurrier, Danny Wuerffel, and Jesus himself…I mean Tim Tebow. I think more fans stayed outside to get a picture with the Tebow statue, than actually went in to watch the Spring Game….and you know what, they didn’t miss much because the game sucked just like Florida will this year.

Recap of the Spring Game below…
