Virginia Men’s Lacrosse Player Murders His Girlfriend On The Women’s Lacrosse Team
In what might be the saddest story of the year…A University of Virginia men’s lacrosse player George Huguely, has been arrested and charged with the first-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend Yeardley Love, a women’s lacrosse player at the school.
Love was found in bed by a roommate at their private apartment that Love shared with two female friends about three blocks from campus. Officers responded to a call tot the apartment about 2:15 Monday morning for a possible alcohol overdose at Love’s apartment, but once there, “the obvious physical trauma to her” led them to start a homicide investigation. Huguely was found at his apartment, questioned and arrested by about 6 a.m.
Love’s injuries are not known at that time, but once the medics got there it was already too late. We’ll have more details as the story unfolds.
