Josh Shelby 2010 HS Highlight Video

In case you hadn’t heard the new #1 player in the class of 2010 isn’t Kentucky recruit Brandon Knight, in Rivals newest rankings he has been replaced Kansas recruit Josh Shelby and if you watch this highlight reel then you’ll see why.

Kentucky Gets Lamb; Kansas Gets Selby

Last night at the Jordan Brand Classic two more of the nations top HS ballers announced their college decisions; Doron Lamb of Oak Hill Academy a top 25 recruit chose Kentucky and top 5 recruit in the nation, Josh Selby of Lake Clifton went with Kansas.

In Shelby Kansas has the perfect replacement for Xavier Henry, who is going to the NBA only after one season. Shelby is a 6’2 combo guard that can run the point as well as put the ball in the basket. Meanwhile Kentucky landed another 5star recruit in Lamb, a move that should put the Wildcats right up there with Ohio State, UNC, and Memphis as having the top recruiting class in 2010 and we bet Coach Cal isn’t done yet.

Asshole: Kansas’s Athletic Director

Can someone please tell me WTF an Athletic Director actually does besides help schedule games and hire/fire coaches. And while you’re trying to figure that out tell me why Kansas’s AD, Lew Perkins, gets paid $4.4 million a year to do whatever he does.

The $85,000 that he makes a week makes him the highest paid employee in the entire state and the highest paid Athletic Director in the country. And Kansas ain’t even that good.

He makes more in a week than 10 KU students pay in tuition a year. And for what…he doesn’t coach, doesn’t teach yet he is given credit for national championships, bowl victories, and an increased student-athlete graduation. And in his defense only $194,000 of his $4,485,274.66 salary came from taxpayers money, the rest of it comes from Kansas Athletics Inc. (a nonprofit organization that promotes Kansas athletics).

But still couldn’t these funds be used for something else other than padding the pockets of a guy that’s going to die in a few years anyways. via KansasCity.com

Kansas Coach Gives Tickets To A Pornstar

Update: Someone actually got the tickets from Coach Townsend and gave them to her and now she owes them one.

Tickets to the last Kansas home game of the season are priceless. So when I see porn star Samantha Ryan tweeting thanks to that Kansas Coach Kurtis Townsend for giving her courtside tickets to the game, it makes me wonder…

Like imaginary friend used to say, “Nothing in life is free”. So just exactly what did Samantha do for Big Kurt to deserve these awesome seats?

Bubble Watch: Big 12

Day two of the Bubble Watch is taking us to Big 12. And there is not much to talk about hear because we don’t think any of their teams are on the bubble. Kansas probably going to be a #1 seed. KState is for sure in and so is: Baylor, Missouri, Texas A&M, Texas, and Oklahoma State. That’s 7 teams from the Big 12 that’ll be going dancing, which should be the most any conference gets unless the Big East squeeks in 8.

Where Are They Now: Wayne Simien

We remember this guy…he used to play for Kansas back in the day (2001-05), averaged 15 points and 8 rebounds, made it deep in the tournament a couple of times, and was Big 12 POY his senior year. Dude was beast (sick Wayne Simien highlight reel). So whatever happened to him, well you’re going to have to read this one to believe it.
