KState Launching Their Own TV Network

It might not be as fancy as the UT/ESPN Longhorn Network, but for what it’s worth Kansas State announced earlier this week the formation their own TV Network… K-StateHD.TV, an online subscription video service kinda like Netflix that will begin broadcasting events on August 30th.

Enter The Terrifying World Of Frank Martin

KState’s Frank Martin is one mean SOB. Dude is like Bobby Knight, but with way more swag. He cusses players out, making them feel as worthless as a used tampon on the regs…and the scariest thing about it is, I think he enjoys it. H/T Deadspin

KState Is Still Very Overrated

About two weeks ago there were writers out there that were putting KState right alongside Michigan State as one of the most disappointing teams of the year. Since then all the Wildcats have done is win five straight, with three of those wins coming against ranked teams (then #1 Kansas, #8 Texas, and #21 Mizzou). And while Wildcat fans don’t have to worry about if they are in the tournament or not, I’m still not impressed with them.

Why KState will be going home early from the tournament…

KState Back On The Bubble

If Kansas wouldn’t have gotten absolutely dominated like they did I would have got all conspiracy brother on you guys and said their loss to KState was part of some plot by the Big 12 to get another team in the tournament. But seeing how KU was down by 10 or more points pretty much the whole game, it’s safe to say Kansas just sucked.

Hats off to Jacob Pullen who finally played like the preseason all-american everyone though he’d be at the beginning of the season, torching the Jayhawks for 38 points. But for all you KState fans that think you’re in the tournament with this win…not so fast my friend because the Wildcats still have a lot of work to do if they plan on going dancing.

Crazy In N Out Dunks

There’s something in the air. It has animals dying in the hundreds. Charlie Sheen trying to start poorn families. And dunks popping out the rim like Kelly Ripa’s bellybutton.

First KState’s Jamar Samuels had a dunk go in n out like the burger joint one in their loss to Kansas on Saturday night…and the same thing happened to Texas A&M’s Kourtney Roberson just 48 hours later in Monday night’s 69-49 loss to Texas. Ish’ is crazy man.

Basketball Cliff Notes

Pitt 74 – 66 Syracuse: And then there were three. How things might have been different had leading scorer Kris Joseph been there for the Orangemen…but he wasn’t and Pitt handed Syracuse their first loss of the season and more importantly the Panthers, who are off to a 6-0 start in conference play for the first time ever, are in first place all by their lonesome in the Big East standings. We’ll see just how long that last though.

UConn 61 – 59 Villanova: He did it again! Kemba Walker overcame a tuff shooting night to lead the Huskies to the win down the stretch, hitting a big three and the game winner just like he did at Texas last week. Walker right now reminds me of Gilbert Arenas back when people used to call him Agent Zero, you know back when he was actually good.

Even with the loss ‘Nova is still in the Big East title hunt and have a chance to even the score with games coming up against Syracuse (Saturday) and Pitt (Next Monday).

Sports Illustrated College Basketball Comic

This is weird. In the spirt of college basketball season SI writer Luke Winn is teaming up with DC Comics to come out with a series of comic strips featuring some of college basketball’s most well known players of today. No word on what issue they’ll be in, but they’ve released these teasers strips featuring BYU’s Jimmer Fredette (click on comic above to enlarge), Kansas State’s Jacob Pullen, and Villanova’s Corey Fisher.

A preview of the other comic strips below…
