Police Report: We’ve had what seven college athletes arrested this month… and three of them have been Syracuse. This latest guy Logan, don’t ask me what his last name is was arrested along with Eric DeJohn (who is an incoming Syracuse lacrosse freshman) and another dude for breaking into cars.

Allegdely the three stooges men were going around a parking lot looking for unlocked cars and stealing sht… and if the car was locked they’d hit and kick the damn thing leaving a handful of cars all dented up and with broken windows. Yeah, I’m guessing they were drunk.

Yeardley Love. You remember that name? On March 3rd it will have been one year to the day since Virginia lacrosse player Yeardley Love was brutally murdered in her own apartment by her ex-boyfriend George Huguely, who was also a UVa lacrosse player.

Remember now? Well after months and months of Huguely’s lawyers pushing the trial back, I am happy to tell you that proceedings have finally gotten underway. Yesterday after nine hours of testimony, a judge decided there was enough probable cause for the case to move forward…now it’s in the juries hands on whether to indite Huguely on all six charges filed against him, which they are set to do by April 18th.

After they decide that, then the actual trial can begin. But thanks to the pre-trial hearing we already know what the defense is going to try and argue…that Huguely had no intention of killing Love and that Love’s death was a “tragedy but not an intentional criminal act.” LOL!

For the past three years running for one day in April college lacrosse has taken over New Meadowlands Stadium with the nations biggest lacrosse showcase, The Konica Minolta Big City Classic…and this years Classic just so happened to be yesterday. And while last years event set the attendance record for a regular season lacrosse-only event with 25,710 fans, this years fan total came in just under that with 25,115 spectators.

There’s good lip dubs and then there’s bad ones…this one lies somewhere in between. But if you’re like me, good or bad you’re going to watch because you’re wondering how the girls on the Lafayette Lacrosse team look (decent, I’ve seen worst).

We all remembere the Duke Lacrosse rape scandal from four years back…right. A handful of white Duke lacrosse players were falsely accused of rape by a black stripper, all charges were eventually dropped against them and three of them received an undisclosed settlement from the school to “eliminate the possibility of future litigation”.

Now thanks to a tax slip up by one of the players it is being reported that the players could have received $20 million from the school…each! Or $60 million total.

Lacrosse season is upon us. The women got started up yesterday, while most of the men’s teams will open their season this weekend. There’s preseason rankings to go over, All-American Teams, conference previews..and all that other good stuff .

But before we get to any of that we first need to update you on the biggest lacrosse story of all-time, the George Huguely – Yeardley Love murder (you remember the women’s UVA lacrosse player that was murdered by her bf who was on the UVA men’s lacrosse team).

First off Notre Dame cops are assholes. While all the other police officers in the country are handing out citations for underage drinking…they’re over there beating, tasing, and then arresting students for it. Case in point: for the second time this year the police over there have broken up a party and arrested over 40 people for underage drinking.

The first if you remember was back in July when they rolled a party and arrested Nick Montana along with 46 students and athletes. Then this past Saturday they broke up a lacrosse party, hauled 37 kids to jail (10 of them being lacrosse players)…including midfielder Benjamin Ashenburg who got in a fight with the cops and ended up getting tased. Sure maybe he deserved it, but what no college student deserves is to be hassled and arrested for underage drinking. I think I speak for everyone when I say f-ck the police!
