As if things couldn’t get any worst for Rick Pitino after he got embarrassed for going hard in the paint for 15 second with a chick that looked like Skeletor and had been around the block more than the mailman, it does. This week he lost two recruits to academics.

Roburt Sallie was trying to pull a Masoli and transfer to a Louisville graduate program so he didn’t have to sit out a year, but was denied because he graduated from Memphis too late. Then recruit Justin Coleman, who is the 50th best player in the class of ’10, is just slow and didn’t qualify academically. You know what this spells right, they’re about to get their ass whooped by UK this year. And speaking of UK, here goes their 2010-11 schedule.

Only one thing cold be better than the Rick Pitino trial and that is another one…and if the defense has their way that is exactly what we’ll get. Yesterday the attorney for Karen Sypher that “a key witness or witnesses” in the case lied on the stand and he would like some more time to investigate (45 days) before filing a request for a new trial.

With so many shady characters having took the stand during the trial, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone had lied…now all the defense has to do is prove it.

So some spies caught Rick Pitino out at Miami Beach restaurant Prime 112 “sipping martinis” and celebrating his court victory just a couple of hours after the jury found Karen Syher guilty of trying to extort him out of millions and lying to FBI agents. The weird part about the dinner was ”he was with four of his kids, but not [his wife] Joanne”. Interesting.

Could the xxx details of the trial have broken up the Pitino’s happy home? If so he could lose more than the $10 million Karen wanted. We’ll keep our eyes open for anymore signs of a possible separation. In other news: Karen Sypher gave a 40 minute interview where she blabbed on and on about how she didn’t get a fair trial. Yeah right hoe.

Damn I thought they’d let Karen Sypher slide on at least a couple of charges. But noooo instead they found her guilty on all six of the counts she was facing: three counts of extortion, two counts of lying to the FBI and one count of retaliation.

Each extortion claim carries a maximum of two years in jail, each lying to the FBI count five years, and the retaliation ten years…so she could be looking at up to 26 years in jail! The judge should hand down the sentencing sometime within the next 60 days.

Karen Sypher’s defense was lame. After the prosecution called like 15 witnesses to the stand over three days, they didn’t call any in her defense. They rested their case yesterday without even putting up a fight. Now the case is in the jury’s hands.

They started deliberations yesterday afternoon, but came back after two hours and told the judge they needed more time…good news for Sphyer because this means they’re split on a decision. The jury reconvenes today at 9:30 am, which means they should have a verdict by this afternoon. We’ll update you on Facebook the second it comes in.

What! Yesterday nothing happened besides the prosecution resting their case. And then today the defense was supposed to start calling their witnesses to the stand, but instead they rested their case too. Looks like we won’t get to see Karen Sypher take the stand, as was the rumor (sad face). Now the only thing that is left to do is in the trail is the closing arguments, the verdict, followed by the sentencing…and word is the verdict could come as early as today and for sure by tomorrow. Rick Pitino is thanking Brett Farve right now for knocking his trail out of the headlines with his retirement. Yesterday not much of anything happened, but today should be another story with the prosecution is expected to wrap up their case and the defense getting their chance to question all of Karen Sypher’s many lovers.

The most shocking of the lovers, besides the Karen’s lawyer who she regularly gave head to, was a guy named Tyree Fields that claims to be a former businessman turned basketball talent scout.
