NCAA Talking About Raising Minimum GPA

Could you imagine if the NCAA raised the required GPA from 2.0 to 2.5 for incoming freshmen… sht that might stop like half the top recruits from even enrolling in college. Well the NCAA is thinking about doing just that according to commissioner Mark Emmert.

And the only good news for those dudes that are barely getting by in high school is that the NCAA along with raising the GPA they’re also thinking about allowing partial qualifiers to receive their full scholarships and be able to practice — but not compete — with their team for one academic year.

Proposed Change To The NBA Draft Blows

Someone needs to fire this new NCAA president Mark Emmert ASAP. He hasn’t even taken office yet and he’s already talking about trying to change the NBA Draft to make it more like baseball’s…where kids can turn pro right out of high school, but if they go to college they have to stay for three years or until they’re 21. Mark Emmert’s Stance On Sports

Most people could care less if there is a new head of the NCAA, all they want to know is if it is going to change college sports…particularly football and basketball.

  • He might be for a football playoff: About a year ago he was quoted as saying “I happen to be one that thinks it’s inevitable we’ll have a playoff”. Now whether or not he’ll be one to push the school presidents into making one remains to be seen.
  • He doesn’t like that basketball players leaving college for the pros after 1 year: “I think it creates difficult problems inside universities when we’re trying to promote an emphasis on (players being) students as well as athletes.” But this is a battle he’s not going to win, there’s no way the NBA or David Stern is upping its age limit.

The NCAA Gets A New CEO
