After being pretty mediocer by their standards for the past decade or so, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are finally trying to change the culture of South Bend and get some better recruits in there.

Damn this sounds like a scene from Final Destination or something. Notre Dame basketball recruit Eric Katenda was playing in a pickup basketball game in Washington D.C. in early July when he got hit in the left eye by an opponent… which caused a build-up of blood behind the eye that caused so much pressure it severed the optic nerve, leaving him blind in that eye.
Sucks for him! The good news is that even though Katenda is now blind in one eye, Notre Dame will still honor his scholarship… for now. [via]

There’s no doubt about… the University of Notre Dame, their coaching staff, and all their school officials are the reason that 21 year old videographer Declan Sullivan. Yet here we are a few months later and justice has still not been served. And its not just that that’s pissing me off… what’s pissing me of is that Notre Dame is actually fighting the charges.

Nike started it last year with the Pro Combat uniforms for Ohio State, Alabama,TCU, Boise State, Missouri and others… where they made custom gloves that when you put your hands together it forms the team logo or mascot. And now this season Adidas is getting in on the action too.
Here goes the gloves that Notre Dame and Nebraska will be sporting this year… so expect to see a lot more player throwing up the roc after they score a touchdown. [via]

The Lornghorn Network is coming August 26th. BYU’s network is . The Big Ten Network and the the Pac 12 Networks are coming… you can expect to see the both of thems in 2012. And now also throwing their hat into the “fck everybody we’re making our own network” is Notre Dame. Surprised? No. They already don’t belong to a conference… so this is the next logical step, right?
But if you’re a Fighting Irish fan and looking forward to seeing them 24/7 don’t get too anxious.

Well Lil Wayne is still on Skylar Diggins jock.
