Cal Releases Will Lyles Recruiting Package

Oregon paid Will Lyles $25,000 for ’2011 National Package’, which contained no 2011 recruits. LSU gave him $6000 for a California and Kansas JUCO package, which contained outdated information. And now we finally have the details of what was in the ’2010 National National Package’ that Will Lyles provided Cal Berkley for $5000… and you guessed it, it also contained some suspect tapes and info.

Details of the package Cal received below…

Chip Kelly Talks NCAA Violations

So Oregon head coach Chip Kelly took the stand today at Pac 12 Media Day, but sadly he didn’t answer any questions about the NCAA’s investigation into the programs connection to Will Lyles. In fact before anyone could even ask a question Kelly opened with this statement: ”I’d love to answer all the questions and we will at the appropriate time. When the outside law firm findings are made public I’d like to answer all the questions. There are a lot of misconceptions.”

And the only other comment he made on the matter was: ”I can’t speak to what any other school has done. I know [Lyles] deals with 80-some schools… I would love to talk about it. Once the report comes out, I’ll deal with any questions anybody has about the situation.” So no new news to report here folks. Sorry.

Oregon AD Updates Fans On NCAA Investigation

The SEC Media Day is over and done. The ACC Media Day is going on right now, but who cares… the next one we’re gearing up for the very first Pac 12 Media Day, which starts tomorrow. And all eyes will be on Oregon and not because they are a national champion favorite, but because this will be the first time the media will have a shot at questioning head coach Chip Kelly since the Will Lyles story broke.

And as if trying to curb the onslaught of questions Kelly is sure to receive Oregon Rob Mullens has sent out an email trying to quell football supporters concerns.

NCAA President Promises To Be Tougher On Cheaters

Watch out Auburn, Ohio State, and Oregon… this new NCAA president Mark Emmert ain’t playing. On August 8 & 9 he’ll be hosting a presidents retreat where over 60 university presidents, athletic directors, faculty representatives and conference commissioners will gather to meet and discuss all things NCAA.

But in a statement released yesterday Emmert is already letting people know what the main topic of discussion will be, NCAA rules violations… and from the sounds of things, the NCAA is about to get a lot tougher of schools that break the rules. So start stocking up on tissues now Tigers, Buckeyes, and Ducks.

LSU Gets Questioned About Will Lyles

Word is an NCAA official was on campus a week ago and interviewed several members of the football coaching staff about their relationship with Lyles. We don’t know what they talked about because the school is on a gag order, but you can bet it had something to do with the $26,000 they’ve paid Lyles over the past two years for his film and informational services.

But if I were an LSU fan I wouldn’t be too worried… this little investigation into the Tigers has less to do with LSU as it has to do with and more to do with building a case against Oregon.

The LSU – Will Lyles Connection

As the world turns its focus to recruiter Will Lyles connection to the University of Oregon, the people over in Eugene are trying to turn the spotlight off of them and put some heat on the other school who had dealing with Lyles… LSU.

What we know at the moment is that LSU paid Lyles $6,000 in December for his “scouting services” and upwards of $26,000 to him and/or his various scouting companies since 2008 in all… and that at the time LSU was recruiting RB Lache Seastrunk and LB Trevon Randle (who signed with the Tigers in Feb. 2010), both whom have close ties to Lyles.

Now as of yet we don’t know if LSU did anything wrong, their in the same boat as Oregon and sadly right now it’s guilt by association when it comes to the name Will Lyles… but if you let Lyles tell it something shaddy was going on over at LSU.

What Will Lyles had to say about his relationship with Les Miles and what he told the NCAA below…
