Here it is… the first women’s college volleyball rankings of the year (the complete 2011 preseason AVCA poll here) along with the ten hottest girls on each of the teams ranked in the top ten, don’t they look lovely. And for like the umpteenth time in a row Penn State, who’ll be going for their fifth consecutive national title this year, is ranked number one despite having team that is made up of 13 freshmen and sophomores and just two seniors.

Will this year be the year someone dethrones the Nifty Lions? Season starts August 26th.

Police Report: Long was arrested on Friday and is facing sex assault charges after allegedly trying to rape an unconscious victim earlier that morning. We don’t have any details, but he is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on the charges Wednesday, so we should know more then… but this is definitely not sounding good.

It’s no mystery that we around here don’t roll with Joe Paterno… dude should have retired like 10 seasons ago, but yet he’s been wandering the sidelines and chilling up in the press box for the past two seasons with a gimpy leg collecting phat checks, while not coaching. Well apparently that’s all about to change this season.

You’ve already seen Old Joe with his giant Mac on Skype this off season and comes this statement from him: ”I told the staff, ‘Your day in the sun is over… I’m going to call a lot more plays and lot more defenses and the whole bit, so get ready‘.” I’ll believe it when I see it. [via]

I’m too young to know who this dude Jerry Sandusky is (he was assistant coach of Penn State’s football team for over 40 years 1966, 1969-1999)…all I know is that word on the street is he likes touching little boys. Apparently the Sandusky here has been under investigation since 2009 after a 15 year old boy came forward and said that Sandusky had been inappropriately touching him since he was 10 years old.

And this isn’t the first time he’s has been accused of getting his Michael Jackson freak on with little boys either…he was also accused of inappropriately touching a boy age 12 while he was showering with him in the football building on Penn State’s campus in of May 1998.

Why we are just hearing about these allegations now below…

Let’s get ready to rumble! I don’t know Michael Buffer was there screaming that before this St. Patricks Day brawl involving two Penn State football players (Curtis Drake and Derrick Thomas), two basketball players (Tre Bowman and Taran Buie), one Penn State student, and two brothers who are too cool for school…but he should have been.

Can you believe that less than 1% (.03% to be exact) of colleges in the nation’s six major football-playing conferences have never had a major NCAA infraction? Which means if you’re a recruit who’s looking to go to a college thats has never been in trouble with the NCAA you’ve got a choice between just two schools.

So who are these two squaeky clean programs that have never committed an NCAA violation…the Penn State and Stanford. The rest of the schools have combined for a total of 241 infractions cases dating back to 1953. And the baddest apple in the bunch, Arizona State who has had nine NCAA infraction cases to date. [via USAToday]

Jo Paterno is a legend, but not not this big of a legend. Some rich booster out has such a hard-on for Penn State and Joe Paterno that they paid $10,200 for the necktie Paterno wore during his 400th win last fall. $10,200! I wouldn’t pay that much to have Megan Fox lick my ass and someone paid that much for a used bowtie. Smh! [via Campus Rivalry]
