What’s Baylors Problem? Bears Block Texas A&M’s Move To SEC

Finally! After weeks of speculation, today the SEC unanimously decided to invite Texas A&M to join their league…but what should have been a day of celebration for both the Aggies and SEC has been ruined by the Baylor Bears, who are considering legal action against the SEC to keep A&M in the Big 12.

But why? On September 2nd the SEC received a unanimous written assurance from the Big 12 that the SEC was free to accept Texas A&M to join as a new member, but then yesterday Baylor and Baylor alone reversed their field. So why? Well that’s the question we’re here to answer.

Why Baylor doesn’t want Texas A&M to leave the Big 12 below…

Texas A&M Sends The Big 12 Their Resignation Letter

It’s over. With one email today Texas A&M president R. Bowen Loftin told the Big 12 to kiss his ass… they’re leaving to join another conference on June 30, 2012. It’s about damn time (we’ve got that letter along with a statement from Big 12 commish Dan Beebe about A&M departure below that you can read).

So now what? Texas A&M must agree on the terms of the settlement. The SEC and the Big 12 will quitely hunt for additional members… and we’ll be sure to bring you all the rumors as they’re whispered. But as of now word is the Big 12 is looking hard at Notre Dame and Arkansas… while also considering BYU, SMU, Houston, Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Louisville. The SEC meanwhile will probably play with 13 next season, but expect them to stay at that number for long. In other words this story is just getting started.

The Big 12 Wants $30 Million From Texas A&M

We know Texas A&M is going to leave the Big 12 for the SEC… the only question left is how much will is cost them? Over the past few days, the Big 12 provided the Aggies with an outline of the steps they need to take in order to depart… and rumor has it, Texas A&M could announce their decision to defect before the weeks end.

So how much will it cost them… according to sources, a buyout would cost the Aggies somewhere in the vicinity of $10-$15 million, although the Big 12 will likely ask something closer to the $30 million mark from A&M. Damn that’s a lot of money!

Texas A&M Sends Divorce Letter To Big 12

If Texas A&M and the Big 12 were in marriage, today Texas A&M served the Big 12 their divorce papers. Posted on the Aggies website today was a letter telling the Big 12 of its plan to explore its conference affiliation options and that it would like to know what its next step should be if it decides to leave. Basically all us what we already knew… Texas A&M is chuck the Big 12 the deuces and waive hello to the SEC.

Texas A&M Cheerleader Week Part II

I don’t care wether it’s the SEC or the WAC… I’m following this girls hotness to whichever conference the Aggies join. Bros and hoes meet Texas A&M Cheerleader Kristin (and a warning from the wise, this chick dyes her hair a lot).

New Texas A&M Chancellor Says They’re Going To The SEC

Lost in all the commotion caused by the Texas A&M Board of Regents unanimously deciding to give President R. Loftin Bowen power to join the SEC was news that Texas A&M selected a new chancellor yesterday as well, some dude by the name of John Sharp.

And while it was Loftin who grabbed all the headlines yesterday evening, it is Sharp who is the talk of town today… for it was Sharp who told the Austin-American Statesman that, “Yes, I’m for going to the SEC. I think it’s a win-win situation.” Finally someone admits it!

Texas A&M Gives President Power To Join SEC

It’s all happening just like we said it would… earlier today the Texas A&M board of regents has voted unanimously to allow president R. Bowen Loftin the go ahead and start exploring conference affiliation possibilities. And although Loftin stated today that staying in the Big 12 remains a possibility, he also made it pretty clear that the SEC is the only conference Texas A&M is looking and/or talking to. So what now… we wait.

Loftin was to appear before the Higher Education committee in the Texas House of Representatives tomorrow to answer questions as to why the Aggies should move to the SEC, but that meeting has been postponed indefinitely to buy the Big 12 and the SEC time…. time for the SEC to find a 14th member and time for the Big 12 to find a replacement for Texas A&M.

And this finding another school business is not something that can be rushed. Studies have to done. Votes must be made. It could take a week, a month, six months or a year… nobody knows and anybody that tells you or tweets otherwise is lying, so relax a bit.
