Yesterday USC secondary coach Willie Garza shocked everyone when it was reported that he would be resigning immediately for “personal reasons”, jut days before the Trojans opener on Saturday against Minnesota.
But despite what Garza is giving for his resignation, CBS Sports says sources have told them that his “resignation was a direct result of his involvement with former scout Will Lyles and a related NCAA probe into possible recruiting violations”.

We’re going to do a little something different and mix our hot athlete photo gallery in with a little breaking news today… for it was announced today that the reigning Pac 12 freshman of the year and star of the #2 ranked USC Trojan Women’s Volleyball team, Falyn Fonoimoana, is ineligible for the entire 2011 season. Sucks!

Just when you think you USC is in the clear, something drags them back into the NCAA’s doghouse. And the worst part is this latest USC potential violation doesn’t even involve a current Trojan… it centers on linebacker Jarvis Jones, who transferred from SoCal to UGA this offseason.
What started out as an investigation into whether an AAU coach had paid for Jones to fly from Atlanta to LA and back… has turned up additional extra benefits.
