Arrest Report: The police say 22 year old Timote Nai Fotu was stopped about 2 am Sunday on state Route 21 after several people called in reporting a sport utility vehicle was driving west in eastbound traffic aka the wrong way down the freeway. The Pac 12 Is Official! CU To Join In 2011

If this is not breaking news to you it should be because Colorado was not supposed to be joining the Pac until 2012. But the dude from OrangeBlood.com, the one that broke the Big 12 expansion story, is reporting that his sources are telling him that, “Unless something unforeseen happens, I think the Big 12 will be a 10-team league next season.”

So hide your wife and hide your kids because the Pac 10 will officially be becoming the Pac 12 in time for the start of next years football season with the additions of Colorado from the Big 12 and Utah from the Mountain West. I guess the Pac 10, I mean the Pac 12, better speed up those discussions they were having on how to split up the divisions.

Utah Now Apart Of The Pac 10

Today is an absolutely great day to be a Ute. That’s not what I think, that’s what Utah athletic director Chris Hill said during his press conference today where Utah accepted the Pac 10′s invitation…like we didn’t see this coming.

About the only new news that came out of today’s presser was Pac 10 commissioner Larry  Scott saying that they had not yet decided on if they were going to divide the conference into two different division, much less how. Nor had they even begun to discuss renaming of the conference.

Quotes below…

The New Pac 12 North South Divisions

Now that we are all 99% sure that Utah will officially become the 12th and final member of the Pac 10 tomorrow now we can start to look at how the conference will be broken down. The Denver Post says that most likely the Pac 10 will be split into two six team divisions, north and south: Stanford, Cal, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington and Washington State will be in the northern division and USC, UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, Utah and Colorado in the South.

Sounds alright, but if I were aligning them I’d probably flip-flop move Colorado and Utah to the north and have Stanford and Cal in the south so that all the California teams are together in one division. Another option id if they just split it down the middle so each teams rival was in the other division. USC in the south, UCLA in the north. Arizona in the south, Arizona State in the north. And so on and so on.

The Pac 10 Invites Utah To Join

UPDATE: The Pac-10 has extended a membership offer to the University of Utah. A formal announcement is set for Utah’s Board of Trustees meeting on Thursday

I am just about fed up with all these sources saying this and that about the Pac 10 expanding. Just about everyone of them, especially those who were feeding ESPN their information, were wrong about the Big 12 Doomsday. Now ESPN has a new “story” and “source” that’s claiming that Utah going to the Pac 10 is “imminent“.

As if everybody and there momma didn’t know that. The only detail the source gave up about Utah’s move and I quote is that we can expect an announcment to come as soon as Friday. Meaning that it can actually come anytime before then and anytime after. That’s like me saying that an earthquake could hit California as early as Friday. ESPN is starting to remind me of the weatherman, always talking a lot of shit and most of it’s bull.

No Utah Pac 10 Invite Coming Today

Late last night some news station came out with a felonious report that they’d learned exclusively that the Pac 10 was going to extend an invite to Utah today…turns out that will be a negative. The Salt Lake Tribune says the Mountain West officials haven’t heard a word from Utah regarding leaving and a Utes official said there is “nothing new to report“. The Denver Post even went as far as to call Pac 10 commission who confirmed the report was “not accurate“.

Looks like the Pac 10 isn’t as anxious as some thought to be denied once again. So if you hear anything of the sort just let it go one ear and out the other. And for those of you who are keeping score, so far the Pac 10 is 1-6 on invites.

The Pac 10′s Next Move

Now that the Big 12 death has been avoided and the Pac 10′s plot for world dominance with a 16 team conference thwarted, the question becomes what will be the Pac 10′s next move. They’ve got Colorado, which makes them an 11 team conference. They want to expand further, but can’t raid the Big 12 for anymore teams.

So really when you think about it the Pac 10 is only left with one option.
