Tennessee Pays For Kiffin & Pearls Mistakes

It is time for Tennessee to answer for the recruiting violations that Lane Kiffin and Bruce Pearl made back in their tenure as head coach of their basketball and football programs. And yesterday the school took the first step towards atoning for their sins by putting themselves on two years probation… but I doubt that punishment will be enough for the NCAA, who will make their ruling on the school in the coming weeks.

Let us remember Tennessee’s basketball and football programs committed a total of 12 violations over the past few years, not to mention Bruce Pearl lied to investigators about committing a violation.

And those violations are serious enough to warrant more than a measly two years probation (Tennessee has also said it will now only allow 50% of Tennessee’s football coaches to make recruiting phone calls to prospects and reduce the number of permissible recruiting days from 168 to 162 over the next two years).

  1. Football penalties are pretty much done. Don’t expect the FB program to get hit.
