The Big 12 Gives Ultimatum’s To Both Nebraska and Missouri

UPDATE: Nebraska AD Tom Osborne says he knows nothing of a deadline given by the Big 12 stating, “I really don’t know what the final parameters are”.

UPDATE: Missouri is pleading the fifth on the ultimatum. Via a UM news bureau spokesman, “Right now there’s nothing else we can say than what we’ve told you before”.

Shit just got real! The Big 12 drawing a line in the sand to see which conferences are in and who is out. With both the Big 10 and Pac 10 trying to poach teams from them the Austin American-Statesman claims the Big 12 told Nebraska and Missouri that they have “until 5:00pm Friday” to tell them it they’re going to bolt for the Big 10 or not.

I don’t know how believable this story is, but it seems solid because all the outlets are running with it…so it looks to be on like Donkey Kong. What is unclear is what happens if the deadline passes? We’ll have updates throughout the day.

    So Missouri & Nebraska have to decide by 5:00 Friday, but Texas et al can decide whenever they want? Is there any question why MU & NU want out of this joke of a conference?
