What’s Izzo Got Against Chris Allen

Before the Big 10 Tourney started Michigan State’s Coach Izzo caught everyone, even the players, by surprise when he announced that he’d be suspending starting guard Chris Allen indefinitely. The only reason given…some BS about violating unspecified team rules and something “about being a better teammate”. So what was the suspension about?

The truth is no one knows why Allen was suspended except the people inside the Spartans lockerroom. But it was clear that last night they needed him and his 9 point a game average in their 67-72 OT loss to Minnesota in the Quarterfinals.

Chris Allen was there, he just wearing street clothes. And the only thin Izzo said to him all night was moments before the game ended, his words: “I just said ‘I hope you understand that you let two seniors down; whether we recover from it or not, I hope you understand.” Cold blooded! And all we want to know is what did Allen do to deserve this…
