It seems like every couple of years for a week or two every sportscaster and writer out there wants to hop on the soccer bandwagon. It happened when the women won the gold and that chick took off her shirt. Then again when Beckham first came over here. And now yet again this year as the US did half decent in this years world cup.
You have everyone talking about how soccer ain’t so bad and how it’s eventually going to catch on in here the US. Bullshit! It’s never going to catch on and I’ll tell you why…because college soccer sucks! Everybody knows a strong college fanbase equals a strong pro fanbase and soccer just don’t got it. It doesn’t come on TV. Nobody goes to their games. Nobody cares. Not even LeBron could make soccer popular in America.
And if you think you like soccer…how many college soccer players can you name? (None). And I bet you can’t name where any of the players on the World Cup team went to school either. You know why, because you don’t really like the sport, you just wanted to see the USA kick some other countries ass.
And odds are you care more about where you can watch the big titty girl from Paraguay run naked, than you are about who wins the World Cup final right about now. Be honest, which would you rather watch…
So please if you see some writer talking about how cool soccer is please leave them a comment saying they’re a stupid asshole because if any sport is going to be the next popular sport it’ll probably be women’s beach volleyball.

It’s because the NCAA plays a flawed style of soccer featuring countdown clocks, a lack of draws after 90 minutes, and other stupid rules that don’t prepare players for pro leagues. Playing college soccer is such a step down that the best players won’t even bother going to college.
Once we start playing soccer like the rest of the world, college soccer will get much bigger.
Also, the Maryland soccer team enjoys a large fanbase, routinely drawing national record crowds. Shame that other schools can’t get behind it.

So of the 14 top US players, only 6 played in major conferences. The four best skipped college soccer entirely. Who would want to watch? That says nothing about how good the MLS/EPL/USMNT games are. Soccer is already popular, it is only a question of whether it will grow to be as popular as one of the big three.
Stupid Article. Soccer is definitely catching on, and within twenty years it will be a top sport in the United States. With the attention it has been getting people are starting to understand it and gain an interest in it.

So I think all of these people called the writer of this an idiot (more or less). Yet almost none of them formed a grammatically and correctly spelled sentence, let alone a comment. Funny.
I think Americans only like sports where no acting, flailing, bitching, complaining, faking injuries, or miraculously healing limbs occurs. I.e. every sport not named soccer. When I see a soccer player legitimately get hurt and “walk it off” and stay on the field, HE will have my respect, not the sport itself.
Soccer is the only sport where the women are tougher than the men. ADORABLE!! But it makes sense, because in almost all of these countries that play soccer, their women look like men, and the men are basically women with hair…so, yea, they’re women too I guess.
